This Privacy Policy describes how novelmist ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our services, including our mobile applications and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy applies to information collected through novelmist’s mobile applications (iOS/Android), website, and any related platforms that link to this Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service. In matters regarding personal data, this Policy shall prevail over any conflicting terms.

We collect information you provide directly and information gathered automatically through your use of the Service. We limit collection to what is necessary for the purposes outlined below.

Information You Provide Voluntarily

• Account & Profile Data: To create an account, you should provide the necessary and valid information such as an email address, username and birth date, etc., which might be required according to the application's usage requirements. You may optionally add other details to your profile. Please note: your profile may be visible to other users. Avoid including sensitive personal information (e.g., religious beliefs, sexual orientation, ethnic background) unless you intentionally wish to share it.
• Communication Data: This includes messages you send to us (e.g., support requests, feedback) and information you provide when participating in surveys, contests, or promotions.
• Payment Data: If you make purchases (e.g., subscriptions, in-app items), payment details are handled by third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We do not store full payment card numbers.

Information Collected Automatically

We collect certain data automatically to improve, personalize, and secure the Service.

• Usage & Browsing Data: How you interact with the Service (e.g., content viewed, features used, reading duration, referral URLs).
• Device & Technical Data: Device model, operating system, unique identifiers (such as GAID or IDFA for advertising purposes), IP address, network information, language settings, and app performance data (crashes, errors). Precise geolocation is collected only if you enable location permissions.
• Advertising Data: Data related to ads you view or interact with, used for ad measurement and personalization.

Information from Minors

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 12 (or the minimum age required by local law, such as 16 in the EEA). If we learn that a minor has provided us with personal information without proper consent, we will take steps to delete the account and associated data as required by law.

• Third-Party Tools: You may opt out of personalized ads from many providers via industry tools like the DAA or NAI. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

6. Your Advertising Choices

• In-App: Adjust your ad preferences in novelmist Account Settings under "Privacy" > "Ad Preferences."
• Marketing Emails: Unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email.
• Device Settings: Manage ad tracking through your device OS settings (e.g., iOS Tracking settings).

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes stated, unless longer retention is required by law.

• Account Data: If you delete your account, we will remove most of your data within 30 days, but may retain certain records (e.g., transaction data) for legal compliance for up to 7 years.
• Automatically Collected Data: Generally retained for 12 months after your last use, unless needed for security or troubleshooting.
• Minors' Data: Deleted promptly upon discovery of unauthorized collection.

8. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With trusted vendors who assist us (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers, analytics services) under strict confidentiality agreements.
• Other Users: Your profile information and any public posts may be visible to other users.
• Legal & Safety: When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
